Wendy Kagan has been a freelance writer and editor for more than ten years. Her work has appeared in national magazines such as Garden Design, Saveur, and Organic Style, and travel guidebooks such as Fodor's Where to Weekend Around New York City. She worked as a reporter and wrote the “Hudson Valley Traveler” column for the Putnam County News & Recorder, based in Cold Spring, New York.
Kagan graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Vassar College, where she received the English Department Award. She went on to receive a master's degree in English and Comparative Literature from Columbia University, teaching composition writing to Columbia undergraduates.

Together with her husband, the writer Michael Belfiore, Kagan runs Belfiore & Kagan, specializing in copywriting for businesses. Their clients have included American Express Publishing, Rodale, Tompson Gale, Canon, and Sharp Electronics.
EDITING
Kagan has worked as a freelance project editor for American Express Publishing magazines for more than ten years. She has overseen the copy for special sections appearing in Travel + Leisure, Departures, Food & Wine, and Travel + Leisure Golf.

In her work for American Express Publishing, Kagan has written and edited quarterly newsletters for Travel + Leisure magazine's Elite Traveler Club, Food & Wine magazine's Connoisseur Club, and Departures magazine's Wine Reserve Club, among others.
